Present: Bob Donahoe, Judy Parmelee, Ron Rencurrel, Dave Maynard, Don Ouellette
Excused Absence: Mike Kain
Minutes of July 11, 2007 were approved.
Election of Officers The new officers’ terms for the Bikeways Committee start in September. The following were elected at our August meeting for the upcoming year:
Chair Judy Parmelee
Vice Chair This is an open position until December. Last year, we did the same thing and it gave us an opportunity to appraise the interest of the new member that will be joining our committee in the fall.
Secretary Bob Donahoe
Old Business
Brush Cutting The Non-Resident Tax Payers association requested some brush cutting on the CCRT between Old Orchard and Brackett Roads. In response, Dave Maynard reported on a discussion he had with Danny O’Brien concerning requests to clear brush on the trail. Bob contacted CCRT management to insure removal before the PMC ride as they will be using this section of the trail.
Pan Mass Challenge Report Bob Donahoe gave a report on the final preparations for Committee volunteers assisting the Pan Mass Challenge event that will pass through Eastham on August 5th. It is expected that the busiest hour in Eastham will be 8-10:30 AM. Eastham Police cover the crossings at Old Orchard, Brackett and Nauset Roads. Committee members will be assisting on Old Orchard Road to advise people NOT to enter the tunnel in the opposite direction of the riders. We would also be at other areas where needed.
New Business
Eastham CCRT Needs The Bikeways Committee set a date to review the CCRT reconstruction in Eastham and to develop a partial “punch list” of items that need to be completed in regards to the contracted upgrades. Bob will draft a letter of thanks and an attached list of our observations for the Board of Selectman to send to CCRT.
Still need to locate a bike rack for Town Hall.
Next meeting: Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 8:15 AM in the small conference room at Town Hall.
The Meeting was adjourned at 9:30 AM
